Announcements

charity ball news!

Community Resource Services (CRS) is delighted to announce our 36th Annual Charity Ball, A Night of Heart and Hope, on April 5, 2025, at the stunning Shipyards Event Center in Lorain.

This special evening celebrates the profound impact CRS has had on families in Avon and Avon Lake who are facing financial challenges. The Charity Ball is our largest fundraiser of the year, offering a memorable night of passed hors d’oeuvres and a sit-down dinner, music and dancing, raffles and an exciting auction.

All proceeds benefit CRS and our mission to combat poverty in our communities.

For over three decades, CRS has been dedicated to providing vital assistance to those in need through programs such as our on-site food pantry, financial aid for rent, utilities, and medical expenses, support for car repairs, school supplies, personal development, and more.

Join us as we honor our supporters and celebrate the power of community in creating hope and opportunity for our neighbors in need.

Together, we can make a lasting difference.

We look forward to sharing this unforgettable evening with you!

Sponsorship and auction donation opportunities are available now.  For sponsorship information, please contact Sheila Roth at sroth@aalcrs.org. For auction donation information, please contact ccarlson@aalcrs.org.  You can also visit the official Charity Ball website.

CRS Hires New Executive Director

November 2019

The new Executive Director is a familiar face around CRS.  Long-time employee, Pam Ohradzansky, has been chosen as the permanent Executive Director.  She replaces Susan Poole, who left CRS to become the Development Officer at the Community Foundation of Lorain County.  Pam was hired in 2010 as the Bookkeeper and Special Events Coordinator in charge of the annual Charity Ball.  Most recently she has served as the Interim Director.
Pam lives in the community and is well versed in the services provided to residents of Avon and Avon Lake.  The CRS Board of Directors, staff and volunteers are thrilled that Pam will provide trusted leadership and continuity to CRS.
